Meet the Coaches

Coach Pete

Picture
This sport has given so much to me. I've met and had the pleasure of working for and alongside the greatest people and have helped many of them realize goals they set when they first took the difficult but necessary first step in walking through the doors of the gym. I believe that martial arts has something for everyone - fitness, skill acquisition, enhancing our ability to focus and set goals, self-defense, confidence-building, a sense of community. It can be anything that you want it to be. I want Valour's students to know that I will be their #1 fan - I want them to succeed not only on the gym floor but in their studies and careers.
Coach Pete Arcalas has been training Muay-Thai since 1998 in Toronto. He was active in competition from 1999 to 2008. He began teaching Muay-Thai in 2004 and has coached many athletes to championship accolades in Canadian Muay-Thai.

  • Kru/Instructor - CAMTAO (Canadian Amateur Muay-Thai Association of Ontario
  • Kru/Instructor - WAMTAC (World Amateur Muay-Thai Association of Canada)
  • Cornerman - QTBF (Quebec Thai Boxing Federation)
  • Cornerman - Ohio Athletic Commission

COACH GREY

Grey has been involved in Muay Thai since 2006. He helped open Grand Cayman's first Muay Thai gym in 2011. Grey has experience coaching beginners to competitive fighters. He was also instrumental in establishing the now thriving Muay Thai community in Bermuda.

Having survived a liver transplant in 2015, Grey is a member of Canada's Transplant Swim team where he travels and competes throughout the world and is a current 7 time world record holder. Grey lobbies tirelessly to increase organ donation rates through numerous community actions.

COACH GRACE

Coach Grace brings several years of experience working with children with her. She was formerly on staff at The Wonderful World of Circus (a community staple!), where she was responsible for both campers and children attending special events alike, performing skill demonstrations and ensuring their health and safety.

She's been training private lessons since Valour opened and will be working with the Mini-Knights during the week.
